The past may not always be about your childhood. Your childhood is not always sunshine and giggles. When trying to remember the past, the bad and life-changing things are easier to pull out of my head than the good.

Yet, the good memories do pop out, but not when I want to. They come out in everyday conversation. Like when talking to my main squeeze, I remembered a story about Bengali boys being midgets in my batch. It was pretty funny. Since I already wrote about it before on my blog, I’ll let you read it here.

Anyway, I spent a lot of side-tracking and searching very hard to find any memory that was pleasant and isn’t rated-R. I do remember one thing – I was addicted to Ribena as a child. I loved the stuff and could guzzle them like water. My mom has told me that when I was a toddler speeding around in Pampers, I would drink so much of it that my mom had to make the entire bottle of concentrate in a big pot enough to make the Eid Biryani – that’s how much I drank it.

Unfortunately, they don’t make the stuff in the big concentrate bottles anymore. As you can see, I was also psychic about its demise:

It’s Saturday… It’s beautiful this morning…. I have slept 4 hours… but I am wide awake… I am excited… I’m about to launch my first “blog project”… what are we waiting for…?… Let’s go!

7Pi7D was conceived as part of me taking part in NaBloPoMo. The theme for January 2009 is Change, and to commemorate the last week of January, I am opening my blog to my readers to post their opinions, views, thoughts and experiences of change. What they are going to do is simple – they are going to write a post, as they would on their blog, on whatever they want…. but to the theme of change!

To manage this first time event, I have opened my blog to 14 guest posts. People can post more than once, but I would love to have 14 unique and insightful views on change from your perspective, or from your life. There are 2 cash prizes at stake as well….. this will go to the 500th commenter on my blog (we stand at 420 at the moment), and also to the blogger on whose post the comment appears. Depending on how popular this project turns out, there could be something in it for everyone – lets see.
