So I have not blogged for almost 10 days – and boy have I missed it.

I guess, I was having a short lull of words; writer’s block does exist a few months of blogging has taught me that. Saying that, I have finally caught up with my reader, and left a HUGE mass of comments over the last week or so. Hopefully I will get more disciplined in reading posts. Another cleanup of my reader showed that I read random useless blogs… the cleanup means that I can read all the good stuff more often. How do you know that you are part of the good stuff? Well, it is simple – if I have ever commented on your posts, then you are good!

The other thing which has been keeping me awfully busy is work. Over the last 2 months, my day has been starting at about 5am, and I am out of the door by 0715am. The volume and pressure of work, has been right up there, and I seem to be getting the drift that I am being pushed more into managing things, as opposed to “doing” things. Time will tell! It is hard to justify work sometimes; although I have a fairly safe job, the clients in my portfolio are downsizing, and I guess if I can pass some positivity from my side, then I would love to do that! This Dilbert comic outlines one of my clients perfectly – this bank earns approximately US$ 500 million per year just for managing and investing the money of filthy rich individuals and organisations, yet they have had to cut almost 25%  of their staff.

Catching up on reading posts has helped me regain my inspiration to blog again. All of a sudden I have atleast 5 posts in my head – all wanting to pop out at the same time! At the start of the month, I moved this blog from wordpress.com to this new home; to commemorate this I was looking at you readers to send me some posts on some good memories… I couldnt decide on one of my own, but reading the posts of Digital Niqabi, I have gained some much needed inspiration – and hopfully I can put this togeteher soon!

Take 2 – Action!

So, I’ve been quiet for a few days; work has been a touch busy, I have been catching up with studies and reading the books which I have been meaning to read for a while. I have been a little too busy to catch up and comment on everyones posts, and hopefully I can do this over the next week or so.

In the meantime, for those who don’t follow me on twitter, I have some news to share! (No, i’m not pregnant!)

Over the last few days, I have found a new home for this blog – yes, we’re moving! The blog is going to get a new domain – I will post further details soon. I am trying to sort out the layout on the new space, and hopefully will migrate the posts, your comments, setup new pages, and widgets etc in the comming days. What this means is that I will probably not post for a handful of days, however, I have a crackerjack of a post coming up for you guys which is titled – An interview with the Doctor.

As a blog house warming party, I’m open to suggestions for 5 guest posts! The theme – “Memories” (good or bad). I will post the 5 guest posts anonymously, and will appear in March ’09.

2009! Dunno what all the fuss is all about…. it’s here, and today seems no different to yesterday! Well, ok… i’m not at work, but whatever!

So with my new years resolutions outlined, I think I want to bring about some change to the blog as well in 2009. I think I want to start off with the layout; as simplistic as it is (which I love!) I think a little bit of colour wouldn’t be amiss! I also want design a banner, so watch out for those changes in the near future! I have also been contemplating moving over to wordpress.org, but i’m still weighing up the pros and cons… lets see!

A bunch of other changes which I have already made include removing the blogging challenge and the movies pages. I don’t think I got much traffic there, so they have been archived for now. I have brought in a books that I am reading/have read in 2009 page. Hopefully this will grow and be more interesting as the year goes on.

I have also cleaned up my blogroll, so most of the blogs which I avidly read and follow should now appear in this list. It was also a good opportunity to cull some blogs from my Google reader. This list is now down to 46 instead of soemthing like 70+. For whatever reason I was followign a lot of blogs which blogged about their life…. which revolved around following the latest tv shows etc… not quite sure why I stared following them in the first place!

Finally, I was inspired to put my ‘chef‘ hat on once again by this post from minus 1 Thousand (who is the Digital Niqabi really), and reproduced this oh so delicious chocolate pie! It actually is not very sweet at all, and the 2 pies have disappeared in less than 24 hours! Check out her recipe, try it because it was fun and very easy to make…. and enjoy!

(Ofcourse, you can’t talk about pie and forget Weebl and Bob)
