I will agree with you, but not all the way!

One has to be very careful about the failures because credibility comes into play. Saying that, without getting burnt, how do you know not to play with fire?

As for marriage and settling down, well… I think you are kinda right there… our community is sometimes not ambitious enough.However, sometimes when you get married young to the right person and they share the same views as you, you can still get to the place you wanna be… it’s all relative

I agree, if you can you should become bigger and better, regardless of if you’ll fall and risk everything.
Who cares, if you do? As long as you can then say you did you’re best.I live with people whose aim in life is to get married and have a stable life, and think everyone else should aim for the same thing, which is extremely annoying if you want to do more and then possibly get married.

@biscuitinabasket, Being young does not translate into being motivated, just look at schools and educational systems around you to see the apathy. Leadership is the essence and we need to empower the young to provide the vision,knowing they will make mistakes which is the essence of learning. Sooo, all of you young and hungry step up to the plate and leave your mark on the world

@thesanelyinsane, Totally! Part of my frustration is about the fact that our pay is frozen indefinitely; and the only way we can address this is by working harder and get the good times again. Ofcourse, that sort of directive is expected from management first up... and it's not happening with us!

@Specs, don’t get me started about government organizations!

My personal drive is pushing me at the moment, but for the first time in about 3 years that I have begun to think about my options. I can only hope that things improve, because the environment where I work is pretty decent.

Hope you push out to something more successful post-internship!

@Oussama, i’ll agree with you – leadership is severely lacking; however for people so young and yet to hit their prime, it is amazing that they don’t have that self-belief at any level, as well as some sort of hunger to progress.

I’m interning with the Government these days and if what you describe is a fairly regular problem, its reached epidemic proportions here. I just can’t see the point of going day after day after day after day to the same place doing nothing challenging, just moving files about on your desk. Send this upstairs, send this down. lets indulge into office politics to spice things up. And there you are.

Some of them have worked here for FORTY years. FORTY years of this jail (for that’s all it resembles)
