What should I learn….?

So which should it be?

*Arabic because I spent 15 years of my childhood around Arabs, and I can’t put together a sentence in the language.

** Spanish because it is possibly easier than French, Italian or German.

I’ve voted, but whatever you choose- good luck!

I voted arabic only because I am biased. Its not easy, and there are a lot of dialects. -I’m sure you know this – but I would suggest you learn fus’7a. ( traditional) ..it would help to understand the Quran. etc. ( I should really take my own advice! )

Good luck!

@thrice
It’s MY language! :D

@hfm
thanks *thumbs up*

@Marwa
Ya, I was wondering about dialects… I want to try and learn conversational first, and then hopefully traditional arabic would be “easier”. Either ways… I want to start next month, but I just can’t decide :)

Arabic. It’s a beautiful language, even though I always say it sucks because it’s so difficult for me to learn. I’ve been learning it for five years at high school and can just about understand a few written sentences, and Im doing a GCSE in it in a few months time. :(

I’d LOVE to be able to understand and speak it properly. It’d be pretty amazing. And my arabee teacher would be proud. :)

Take it from me. I’ve been down that road.

Learning Arabic, and not any dialect, the real version called fusha is hard, challenging and a LOT of fun once you start figuring it out. It’s like a cryptic puzzle. And it’s ridiculously beautiful.

Spanish is a REALLY close second though….

No idea.
Sorry, but i’ve voted.
Personally i’d like to learn both, i did try Chinese for a while but er…dont’ know what happened and i stopped.
So now if i get lost in china i could go around asking anyone whod listen if they knew english, thank them and say hello. And thats about it.

Gosh I’d go for the Arabic if there’s an opportunity for it! I studied some at uni to a basic level and really enjoyed it.

Spanish “because it is possibly easier than French, Italian or German” is a funny incentive for taking up a new language! :lol:
